Saturday, January 11th – 2019/20 P.O.W.W.O.W. Produce Season Market – Hours: 8-11:00am

With the start of an exciting 2020 calendar year, we would like for all of you to help us support our mission.  Every pound of fresh produce distributed to supporters from our P.O.W.W.O.W. markets will help tackle food waste and greenhouse gases from the landfill.  Shop at one of our 12 market locations this Saturday, January 11th from the hours of 8-11:00am.  With no income or residential qualifications anyone can enjoy shopping for up to 70 Lbs. of fresh produce with a $12 contribution.  Everyone has the inherent right to eat healthy.

We have an Arizona Department of Corrections Work Program at Borderlands.  Twelve gentleman that help us fulfill our mission.  Not always the same 12 as fortunately they transition out to society.  In training these gentlemen, one of their tasks is to help us load our trailers for P.O.W.W.O.W. markets.  At times they may select a pallet of product that was not good enough for a market and accidentally get it loaded onto the trailer.  We ask for your patience when this happens, normally we want it re-loaded on the trailer and not distributed but the trailer may have gone on to a second location and is not readily available for re-loading immediately.  We ask that you be patient, although this product is rescued because it was not sold, we try to make sure that the majority of it is at least 80% or better product.  Remember you are not only helping your families, friends and others to eat nutritiously at .17 cents per pound but you are helping our planet by keeping bad gas emissions out of our environment.  Climate change is also playing a major role in the varieties and quality of product we sometimes receive but again our markets are for the benefit of Arizona families and to help save our planet!  Thank you for your continuing support.

View and download our 2019/20 P.O.W.W.O.W. Produce Season schedule for locations and hours.  Please share your pictures and videos of the produce you shopped and the market you attended with your families, neighbors and friends by posting on social media using #produceonwheelswithoutwaste and #produceonwheels so newcomers can understand more about our program.
