According to the article in The Swag, the average American throws away 300 lbs. of food per year, of that 20% of food that the average American buys is never eaten. Reducing food waste by just 15% would be enough to feed more than 25 million Americans every year. As a redistribution program P.O.W.W.O.W.’s vision to all supporters is to share the fresh abundance of fruits and veggies with their friends and family members so communities can eat healthy. Anyone can contribute $12 (no income or residential qualifications) for up to 70 lbs. of produce at one of our 15 market locations in the State of Arizona this Saturday March 9, 2019, from the hours of 8:00 to 11:00 a.m (Unless Specified). Please help us by posting your pictures and videos of our markets on social media using #produceonwheelswithoutwaste and #produceonwheels so newcomers can understand more about our program.
